Make a difference every day Working In Support Services Trades We have trades staff spread over three sites. We look after buildings, beds, anaesthetic machines, sterilisers, boilers, electrical services, washing machines etc – the list is just about endless! Our work is not just confined to these sites, we have clinical sites from Karamea in the North to Haast in the South. The work is varied and we never know what’s going to happen next. Never a dull moment here, there and everywhere!
Stores We have a small team of three staff who look after all general and surgical products for the whole of the West Coast DHB. This also includes the supply of product for discharged patients so they can recover at home. Their job is a varied one, they receive product in from cartage firms, order product in, produce orders for you on request (so you can go and purchase your own product) and organise cartage firms to cart equipment to and from the hospital.
Transport The department that has to produce vehicles out of thin air (so it seems at times!) for staff to carry out their work. We are responsible for getting the most out of the eight DHB pool vehicles, and managing the overall fleet of 120.
